Let's Play Doll's House

Alison and Suzanna have asked if they may play with one of my doll's houses this afternoon. They've promised to be very careful with it.

Suzanna: It's so sweet!
Alison: Can I open the front?

Alison: Ooh, look at the beds - the small one fits underneath the big one!
Suzanna: There's just one lonely little girl in here, I bet she's glad that we came to visit

Alison: What's this little room outside?

Me: That's the toilet - when Grandma was a little girl, the toilet was outside at her house.

Suzanna: It must have been cold in the winter

Alison: I'm glad we live now and not in the olden days

A Beach Walk with Cody

Every day I take the dog for his walk to the beach and Cody came with us this morning. I made sure he was wrapped up warmly in the adorable coat from DollyDoodles that was part of my daughter's Christmas present to me. He insisted on bringing his chocolate Easter bunny with him.

Cody: Can I eat my bunny, can I?
Me: No Darling, you have to save him until Easter

Cody: OK *sigh*. Can I go for a paddle then? Pleeeease!
Me: I'm sorry Sweetheart, it's much too cold yet.

Cody: *pouty bottom lip* It's not FAIR!

Me: I know Pet

Primroses

Andrea: "Mum, come and see what I've found!"

Andrea: "Look - primroses - aren't they pretty!"

Me: "Yes they are Sweetheart, just as pretty as you"

Mother's Day

I've had a wonderful day on a gardening course, just popped home to get the dogs and now off to my daughter's house - she's cooking a Mother's Day meal for me and my Mum. Alison, wearing DollyDoodles finery, is showing you the pretty flower basket that is part of my present to my Mum.

Lá Fhéile Phádraig - Happy St Patrick's Day

Suzanna is here to wish you all a very Happy St Patrick's Day. It's a little showery here in Cork today, but mostly bright and sunny, so should be a good day for all the parades.

This afternoon I have lots to do in the polytunnel and Suzanna is going to be my helper. She can't believe how quickly the beans are growing!

Knitting and Stitching Goodies

Sorry for the delay in getting back to this blog. Had a stressful week since returning home. Anyway, here's my bag of goodies from the show.



With Cody's help I was working on this Kina Cardigan pattern (in two sizes for Sasha and baby) that is free on Ravelry. It's the first time I've tried knitting from the neck down. There's very little making up to do, just a tiny seam under each arm, so I'll ask for a volunteer to model it tomorrow.
